About Better Factory Better Factory supports SMEs in manufacturing to collaborate with artists and technology providers to develop new and personalised products. It provides technology to SMEs to become cyber-physical systems, transforming them into lean-agile manufacturing facilities that can create new and personalised products. Better Factory is run by 28 partners from 18 European countries representing the ecosystem of the arts, technological competence centres, industrial clusters and technology suppliers. IPO celebrates a milestone of 20 years of design education in Kortrijk.

Many Fives & Sixes aims to build a community around word arts in Kortrijk. There is a lot of living, reading and writing in Kortrijk, but you have to find it/it. That is why every edition has a different location and, where possible, we work with a poetic délégé from the location where the edition takes place. The VVZ board contacts venues and artists and organises the event. A VVZ evening has a standard section with booked artists, followed by an open stage where all forms of word art are welcome. To encourage the latter, they bring different varieties of word art into the booked programme. Throughout VVZ's operation, the aim is to create an artist selection from the open stage to be booked at subsequent editions.

Blockchain offers passionate new prospects for enhancing cross-border cooperation thanks to its ability to create immutable and transparent records that cross national borders. Following annual tradition, Archipel vzw and Intercommunale Leiedal organise a fascinating architectural lecture. This year, in Kortrijk, we zoom in on intergenerational living and care housing. The demand for sufficient and high-quality care facilities in home care, elderly care, general and mental health care is high. Innovative residential concepts within care housing are pressing. Two recent projects in Kortrijk illustrate this trend: Budalys Kortrijk and de Korenbloem. Both projects try to break down the existing barriers between 'care' and society by organising new ways of care, being an open house in and with the neighbourhood. Highly recommended!

Etat des Lieux invites a trio of artists to share their ongoing research or project in a shared programme. At the end of October 2023, Etat des Lieux lands at BUDA, Kortrijk, with Caroline Daish, Mathilde Maillard and Emma Lee Harder, Isabelle Burr Raty and Lucia Palladino. They take the audience on an imaginary journey across water, into the earth and along the forest. A day that seeks to energise with song, storytelling and speculative science fiction.

In this workshop, you will be introduced to the world of laser cutting. A technology that is becoming increasingly well-known and widely used. The possibilities therefore go very far. The aim of this workshop is to introduce you to this process step by step. You work on a simple starting file, make some adjustments if you are familiar with graphics software, prepare the files for cutting and learn to control the machine. You will take home your own designed objects afterwards. This workshop is organised by Digibanks in collaboration with BUDA::lab. Impressed by the work of the finalists of the BKRK award #Braiding Technique, which you can discover at museum Texture during Wonder? Are you a designer, artist and/or craftsman/woman yourself and want to learn more about braiding techniques? In this workshop, braiding designer Esmé Hofman will introduce you to coiling and plaiting, two of the main braiding techniques, and show you what you can create with them. Ask questions about your own work and exchange tips and tricks with other makers. You will go home with a head full of inspiration and be able to experiment further afterwards. 16+
