Ukkelberrifun is a Nomad Art Gallery that descends on unique locations, special places that shine by themselves. Preferably with a historical background in the pocket.
Curator Ellen Wezenbeek offers emerging artists a platform at the right time and place. Where the location allows the art to flourish at its best and further cross-pollinate to the visitor who enjoys it.
The considered choice of artists often falls on these that do not yet have a gallery roof over their heads. Artworks with an angle off that Ellen says exude an instant love-at-first-sight feeling and invite the visitor to discover the common thread throughout the bold exhibition. Affordable artworks of all kinds of allure with the natural lure: 'Take me with you! Here and now!'
As a matchmaker, she connects more than just exceptional places, artists and visitors. To make the common ground bigger, the artistic range is usually extended with lectures, tours, workshops by the artists themselves. This way, a community develops that fertilises each other and opens up new horizons along all artistic escape routes. Ellen's hunger for art and (inter)action is unstoppable.
