The plastic chair reinvented.
Together with Danish furniture brand Muuto, The Best Room brings the sustainable and circular story of their Fiber chairs.
Iskos-Berlin's iconic design was launched in 2014. Their own modern interpretation of a tub chair made of plastic emphasises sculptural design with wide seat for comfort. In addition, they choose to add wood fibre to the basic plastic material. This creates a tactile design with a unique expression.
Recently, a new generation of Fiber chairs announced with a seat made of at least 80% recycled plastic, extracted from post-industrial waste, and FSC™ certified wood fibre. The 'Giving new life to plastic waste' exhibition interactively shows the different steps from raw material, through product design, to finished Fiber chair. How did they manage to replace plastic with recycled material without compromising the existing design or colour palette?
Come meet the full collection of Fiber chairs and learn how this innovation fits within Muuto's broader sustainability strategy. By using forward-looking materials, techniques and a dose of creative daring, Muuto's ambition is to bring a new perspective to Scandinavian design.
