VLOS is a water raft based on the history of the city of Kortrijk. The region around Kortrijk owes its prosperity and entrepreneurship to the history of flax, the crop used to make linen. More specifically, the region was internationally known for retting the flax, a process in which the flax bales were soaked in the Leie in order to extract the long flax fibre. It is mainly this technique that gave the Kortrijk region their prosperity and the Leie the nickname of the Golden River. The raft was made of flax composite and was finished with brass details. VLOS is part of the Roots 2.0 collection, a search for the local identity of cities and municipalities.
