Retrospective Junior Design - timeless design from Kortrijk
The retrospective Junior Design is a tribute to the award-winning wooden design furniture and educational toys of Pierre Grosjean & Jeanine Bouckaert. Stefan Grosjean, initiator and son of, is celebrating Junior Design's 50th anniversary with an exhibition and re-launch of some furniture in limited edition, translated to contemporary sustainability standards.
Pierre Grosjean and Jeanine Bouckaert started the brand in the 1970s. An interior designer and pediatric psychologist from Kortrijk, not an obvious match at first glance, but one made in heaven. Their different backgrounds made them entrepreneurs with a creative vision, daredevils with a broad outlook, for whom good design was always smart and global.
Pretty soon, Junior Design could count on a customer base that extended far beyond the city borders of Kortrijk. The furniture series received multiple awards and was earmarked with the "Golden Badge" of the Design Center for its design policy. Junior Design participated several times in Interieur Kortrijk in the 70s & 80s and featured extensively in Flemish & European press.
